Short-Term Missions Christian Surfers host many short-term mission opportunities. Most of these are managed nationally with restrictions on those who can join from outside the organisation. Contact either the nation you are from, or the nation you are interested in going to find out more details.
Christian Surfers Australia Short Term Outreaches
- There are 6 spots available (one per month from April-November) for a surf chaplain in G-Land, Indo. You will need to be able to commit for one month and provide your own travel to Bali. All transfers, accomodation, food, and world class waves are free! Please contact Tim Hartnett for an application form.
- Ben and Amee Morris semi-regularly lead teams to Asia and are currently arranging trips to help with the contiuning relief effort after the Japan earthquake and tsunami. Contact Ben and Amee about being a part of an outreach in this region.
- There is talk of there being a trip to the Phillipines to follow up on 2009's effort by the Gold Coast CS crew and the potential trip is currently discussing water filtration systems and identifying a leader that could make an outreach happen in partnership with Hope for the Island at Cloud 9. - Walking on Water have a variety of mission opportunites throughout the year. Visit their website for more info.
- Surfing the Nations. Honolulu, Hawaii. Year round discipling and missions course. Contact Tom Bauer for more info.
- PI Indonesia. Special surfer mission trips are provided for islands off Bali with another established mission organization. Visit Shemah Tours for more info.
- CS Florianopolis in Brazil run a Surf House, which they would love to have people visit. It's in a beautiful area with great surf and they are running a wonderful outreach ministry. Visit their website for more info and watch this video to see the exciting things they have going there.
