Mission
The vision for Tablistas para Cristo is to share the salvation message of Jesus in a friendly way through the Bible to the people related with surfing environment. Tablistas para Cristo is not a church, it is just a group that has people who love the waves and the Creator of the waves. During the year we have different activities, like surfing classes, mission trips to the north of Peru, surfing trips, BBQ’s, Bible studies, and weekly meetings, among other things.

Christian Surfers in Peru has had an important year of growth. While our main goal has been building the leadership team to make it stronger, we have now started the process of making Tablistas Para Cristo a national movement rather than a localized mission. For example we have started a new chapter in Chorrillos, which now we has over 40 kids attending. We are talking with contacts in other cities of Peru including Huanchaco in the north. We want to connect with people on a strong basis.
Another main focus is for us to shift focus back on the beach again after being more involved in the church. We want to develop more evangelistic strategies with the surfers in the water including planning an event at the beach with a contest and concert. Our main target is to redevelop a strong basis at the beach.
This year we ran the fourth TPC Aloha Jesus surf contest, which was a huge success. Usually we have no more than 100 contestants, but his year we had over 180 and ended up turning people away! We had two great days of preaching, testimonies and high-class competition. Many high-profile surfers attended.
Early in the year we had a short-term mission team from Australia visit, doing social work and connecting with the leadership team. Over the year we have also received many visitors from all over the world – Australia, Chile, Costa Rica, Hong Kong and more. We have improved our hospitality and host many guests. The Chilean YWAM team also came and helped out with our social work.
We sent a very important missions trip to Ecuador encouraging potential leaders and now CS Ecuador is ready to start. The trip was really good because it allowed us to share some of our experience with them and help an emerging mission to begin.
The Spanish Surfers Bible was largely produced through work from Peru. It was a long process, but finally it is available. We hope it will be an amazing tool for the Spanish surfing nations.
