Board ChairmanMarcus began following Jesus as a sunburned teenage surfer. Now he's a bit slower and a bit wiser, but still stoked. In particular, he's stoked to help CS to take God's promise of joyful, eternal life to the surf communities of the world. Marcus brings to this calling over 12 years service to Christian Surfers International, and his earlier experience in pioneering local CS mission, along with insights from leadership and board roles in financial services, industry organisations, a national governance accreditation program, education and his local churches. He is married to Anne with 3 adult children and six grandchildren.
Operations ManagerCasey has been a part of Christian Surfers since the late 90s, having served as a local mission director before taking the plunge into full-time staff with CSUS in 2005. After filling a finance role with them for a decade, Casey and his family joined the newly formed CSI office in Jeffreys Bay. Casey is married to Jennifer, and together they have two children, Ezra, and Caris.
Brett & Gill Davis
Founder/Adviser // Board MemberBrett pioneered the Christian Surfers movement in Australia as their first National Director in 1983, then pioneered the international movement since 1999. As an unchurched surfer he was reached by a fellow surfer and wants other surfers to have the same opportunity. He brings a lifetime of experience and contacts and is forever networking with CS and other agencies worldwide. He is still surfing, diving and adventuring, and has a secret outlet in wood-turning and gardening. He believes his far greater achievement is his wife Gillian persisting with him for over 20 years. He has three children – Jackson, Taylor and India.
Gill has been with Christian Surfers since its inception in the late 7'’s. She co-founded Christian Surfers International with her husband Brett and continues to serve the movement as a board member. Gill's parallel universe is as an educator, teaching religious education in public and independent schools and currently consults on a myriad of issues around religious education. In particular her passion is how to engage and connect each generation's cultural stories and language with God's great story.
