A Christmas Message

We may see our life as a string of moments, an emotional tune of musical notes with majors and minors or a kaleidoscope of colours that in the end form a cohesive picture. I believe that it's so much more than this and especially at this time of year, one word brings it all into an eternal perspective: Immanuel, which literally translates to "God is with us". Wow!!! The centre of the universe, the gravity of all things would humbly clothe Himself in human form and step briefly into time. Born a baby to the virgin Mary so that you and I could have hope eternal. The psalmist sings: "such knowledge is too wonderful for me, too lofty for me to attain." (Psalm 139)

And suddenly our mundane moments of existence have a profound and eternal purpose a beautiful subtext to His masterpiece.

Because of this, I want to thank you. Each of you as part of our CS family on mission. Thank you for the magnificent moments you have created in 2019. Each prayer, planning meeting or CS gathering or event would not have happened without you. Each conversation, road trip, dawnie or dodgy dusk session needed you to be there. Thank you also to each supporter and missions partner. Each of these moments is part of His masterpiece unfolding as a generational witness of His divine love story to our frail humanity.

As the sun sets on our last surf session of 2019 and we contemplate the new dawn of 2020, let's allow our lives to orbit around Him as our sustaining gravity. Let's spur each other on in our sometimes fragile faith, remembering our omnipresent, omniscient, and omnipotent heavenly Father. Knowing His divine providence had seen and written every day ordained for us, into His book before even one came to be. (Psalm 139) Let's navigate the year ahead with unbridled confidence in the wellspring of His Spirit and rejoice in Jesus, the author and the finisher of our faith stories. (Heb 12:2) While we plan our steps for 2020, He will surely direct our paths (Prov 16:9) as we continue to create magnificent moments and opportunities for every surfer and every surfing community to know and follow Jesus. YEW!!!
