Honouring Brett Davis

Hey CS Fam 
One of the profoundly different and powerful things about the global Christian Surfers Family on mission is exactly that, its Global, feels like a big family and its 100% on a mission . 

How on earth did surfers manage to organise a global movement like this? 
Well, it's because God called Brett Davis. 

I imagine the job description would have read something like this.

A self-sacrificing pioneering life to the full visionary collaborator is required to start something that will connect Jesus with Surfers. 
Surfing and a passion for all kinds of adventure are mandatory. Travel with no resources is necessary. Letter writing and high admin skills are needed (Because no one else is going to do it for a good while). A strong self-sacrificial commitment to the cause with natural tenacity and resilience is fundamental to success. Additionally, a generous allotment of humility will be required to survive.
If you want this Job, shoot up a prayer, and its yours

Yes, friends, you are reading this because of Brett's obedience to his Kingdom call and because he and Gill laid it all out there for some 50 years. 
BD, as he is affectionately known, is about to embark on a new chapter in his life and is officially re-tyreing from Christian Surfers. More specifically, as he likes to put it, he is re-tying for the next adventure. 

While BD is laying down all official roles, we will not be losing him to the movement. Brett will be our Founder Emeritus and is keen on exploring the role of eldership within our movement. 

Despite BD's extensive travels, he has never had the chance to visit Iceland—a dream destination for him. His Son is playing in a Jazz festival there and so we are keen to send Brett & Gill into re-tyrement by starting with a trip to Iceland with the fam. 
This is not only about Iceland. We want to honour and bless him as he has been such a blessing to so many of us. 
To make this possible, we're launching a unique fundraising campaign so that he and his Family can re-tyre their life as a kick-start to a new area. 

We would love your support in this campaign to help us celebrate Brett's incredible journey and all that he has contributed to our Family on mission.

PS BD is not aware we are doing this, and we aim to have it done by our conference in July. So lets share as wide as we can but try and keep it under wraps as best we can :)
