Soy originario de Loíza, específicamente de Piñones, Puerto Rico. Crecí frente a una de las olas más consistentes de la isla, y comencé a surfear a los 7 años. A los 8 años ya estaba compitiendo, desarrollándome junto a una generación de surfistas excepcionales como Alberto Licha, Charlie Miranda (mi mentor y sensei), Rafy Llompart, Carlos Cabrero, Jorge Iglesia, Roberto “Tito” Cardona y Juan Ashton, entre otros, durante la década de los 90.
Me dediqué por completo al deporte y, a los 15 años, fui seleccionado para formar parte del equipo de Volcom, donde comenzó mi carrera profesional. Gracias al surf tuve la oportunidad de conocer muchos lugares, culturas y personas alrededor del mundo. Sin embargo, a pesar de todas esas experiencias, vivía con un gran vacío interior que solo podía ser llenado por Jesús.
Después de muchos tropiezos y lecciones en el camino, tuve un encuentro transformador con el Señor. Hoy doy gracias a Dios por Su infinita misericordia y por la hermosa familia que me ha regalado: una maravillosa esposa, dos bellos hijos y mi familia en Cristo a través de Christian Surfers. A Él sea toda la gloria.
La oportunidad de asistir a esta conferencia representaría una gran bendición para mi vida. Será una experiencia de crecimiento espiritual y personal, además de permitirme conocer personas de diferentes nacionalidades que comparten un mismo propósito: seguir y servir a Cristo.
El financiamiento solicitado será destinado a cubrir los gastos de boletos de avión, inscripción y hospedaje en Brasil, donde asistiré a la conferencia en representación de Puerto Rico. Mi deseo es regresar fortalecido espiritualmente y mejor preparado para continuar impactando vidas a través del evangelio y del surf.

I am originally from Loíza, specifically Piñones, Puerto Rico. I grew up in front of one of the most consistent surf breaks on the island and began surfing at the age of seven. By the age of eight, I was already competing, developing alongside an exceptional generation of surfers such as Alberto Licha, Charlie Miranda (my mentor and sensei), Rafy Llompart, Carlos Cabrero, Jorge Iglesia, Roberto “Tito” Cardona, and Juan Ashton, among others, throughout the 1990s.
I dedicated myself fully to the sport, and at the age of fifteen I was selected to join the Volcom team, where my professional surfing career began. Through surfing, I had the opportunity to travel extensively, experience different cultures, and meet people from all walks of life. However, despite all these experiences, I carried a deep emptiness that could only be filled by Jesus Christ.
After many challenges, setbacks, and life lessons, I had a life-changing encounter with the Lord. Today, I thank God for His incredible mercy and for the beautiful family He has blessed me with: my wonderful wife, our two amazing children, and my family in Christ through Christian Surfers. To Him alone be all the glory.
The opportunity to attend this conference would be a tremendous blessing in my life. It will be a time of spiritual and personal growth, as well as an opportunity to connect with people from different nations who share one common purpose: following and serving Christ.
The requested funding will help cover airfare, conference registration, and accommodation expenses in Brazil, where I will attend the conference representing Puerto Rico. My desire is to return spiritually strengthened and better equipped to continue impacting lives through the Gospel and the sport of surfing.
