Day Two: Morning

Each full day of conference is based around two regions. Day Two of conference (the first full day) was Africa and Europe combined.

The morning kicked off with a great worship session, followed by the first teaching from our guest speaker, Britt Merrick. Leader of the Reality Church movement and son of famous shaper Al Merrick, Britt has a deep knowledge of the Word and an intimate relationship with the Lord that pours out of his life and teaching. We are blessed to have him join us at conference for a second time, after he originally spoke at our 2004 International Conference in France.

Britt's session was followed by the first of the regional craziness - this from Europe. We had a very interesting dance, followed by a Norwegian performance involving fishing boats, folk songs and lots of water. This was backed up by a game show, trying to find out if anyone that doesn't reside in the Netherlands could speak Dutch (they can't) and what everyone was waiting for - the return of the perfect European specimen, Johnny von Lycra! Johnny did what he does best - got the crowd moving in the sweltering Costa Rican heat to the weirdest dances ever conceived. Long live Johnny von Lycra!

Following the insanity, one of our Costa Rican hosts, former CS Costa Rica National Director and pastor of Pura Vida Church in Esterillos, Dennis Leon, shared with us on Disciple Making Communities, involving encouraging stories and lessons learned from the very beach we are sitting on.
