50th ISA WORLD SURFING GAMES PERU

CSI worked alongside CS Peru to moblise a team to serve at the 50th anniversary ISA World Surfing Games at Punta Rocas. 26 nations were represented and CS leaders from USA, Australia and Peru handed out water, DVDs, Surfers Bibles and food, as well as hosting a special BBQ for the ISA officials. The team have been trusted administrators of the drug testing procedure as well. We need to raise $600 to cover the costs of the distributed Surfers Bibles and 'Beyond Sight' DVDs. CROWDFUNDING A NEW ERA

As many of you are aware, we have appointed Roy Harley as the incoming International Director of Christian Surfers. To help enable a smooth transition of leadership, and set up CSI for its next era of mission, we have been crowdfunding to raise the goal of $30,000. It expires tomorrow, on November 6. We are so close, but we need your help with this last chance to see us get across the line! Join us now at: http://igg.me/at/csinternational

BEYOND SIGHT WORLD TOUR

CS Europe hosted blind surfer Derek Rabelo for a month as he traveled through seven countries in Europe for screenings of Beyond Sight, the new Walking on Water movie profiling Derek. Alongside Derek, producers Bruno and Claudia Lemos visited Switzerland, Germany, Holland, Portugal, Spain, France, and finally the UK. The movie was also shown during the ASP World Tour stop in France on September 29, where Derek met up with a blind French surfer for a special session. Many were impacted all over western Europe. Beyond Sight will be playing in cinemas around Australia during the weekend of November 14-16. Visit www.beyondsightmovie.com.au to check for screening times and locations.

MELANESIA CUP SAMOA

Gordy Webb and Nev Wells visited the Melanesian Cup on Savaii, an island in Samoa. This is a unique event, with teams from Vanuatu, Fiji, Noumea and Guam competing. Simply 'turning up' proved to be one of the most important things Gordy and Nev did, and they ended up judging and advising the organisers. CS was also well represented with CS leader Jonny leading the Vanuatu team to victory. By being so instrumental in the foundational days of surfing in these nations CS can help shape their cultures.

HOLLAND AND SPAIN NATIONAL GATHERINGS

CS Holland will host their annual National Gathering at Sheveningen, November 7-9 with a theme of 'Connecting', where any Dutch surfers interested in CS will meet for worship, waves, word and inspiration. CS Spain will hold their conference themed 'Build Your Speed' December 5-8 at Santona, where National Director Marc Pradales is hoping for a full team from around the nation.

CSUS HOST FIRST OUTER BANKS CAMP OUT

On October 10-12, CSUS held their first Outer Banks, North Carolina, East Coast Camp Out. Guys and girls from all over the East Coast (including Nova Scotia, Canada) came together to worship, surf and encourage each other in spreading the gospel to surfers. Check out photos and videos from their weekend together here.

CS PANAMA CAMP OUT

CS Panama's annual surf camp was held October 10-12, with a full mix of people from the city and country present. Their time was filled with plenty of worship, surfing, teaching and fun. They have a radical contrast of missions from middle class urbanites in Panama City to poor locals in Santa Catalina. Check out a video of their weekend here.

SURF HOUSE FUNDRAISING INITIATIVE

Surf Houses are a new fundraising initiative that involve a donation of 2-3 weeks accommodation per year to CSI, who, in turn, make the accommodation available for sale throughout our network. So far we have houses in New Zealand, Bali, Australia, South Africa and Peru, and more are needed. If you have any recommendations, or would like to donate a house, please contact your RC or our Surf House International Coordinator Peter Haynes from Australia, who works in the travel industry and is assisting the process. We see this as a creative way of more sustained international funding beyond donations. A dedicated website will be set up in 2015. If you want to know more about the locations currently available contact info@christiansurfers.net.
